Most of us spend a lifetime dealing with deadlines.
Think about how many there are:
Work deadline to finish by…
Immunization shots by age …
Get the eggs off the griddle before…
The light turned green/red….get started/stopped now!
Child, get in this house right now before I…..
Most of us could think of at least three dozen
more deadlines we deal with constantly. And, as if that weren’t enough, there is that
time thing. How many more days, months, years
until….
The Psalmist prayed for protection, acknowledging
that God was his refuge. A refuge is a safe-haven,
a welcome port, shelter, protection – a place of safety. And a refugee is a person taking refuge. We think of refugees from storms, floods and political
struggles.
How about you?
Are you a refugee from the deadlines of life?
And where have you taken refuge? Upon what do you depend for your safety, protection
and safe-haven? Is it God?
